Advice on Buying your Wedding Dress

Buying a wedding dress

Start looking for your wedding dress twelve months before the big day.

Use magazines and the internet for inspiration so that you have an idea of the type of dress you want before you visit the shops.

Take a friend or relative with you while you’re trying dresses on – someone who’s judgment you trust!

Look for a dress that flatters the parts of your body you like, and disguises the parts you don’t!

An element of practicality has to come into your selection. Think of the wedding venue and make sure the dress won’t cause you any problems. For example, if you’re having a holiday abroad on a beach you might not want a long train.

Once you’ve picked your wedding dress, try on accessories and shoes to give yourself an idea of the total look. You don’t have to buy them in the same shop, but at least you’ll see how the style works.

Remember that wedding dresses can take many weeks to be made for you, so order in plenty of time. Also allow time for any adjustments that the dress may require.
